What’s a Refresh?
As mentioned when Kentico Xperience 13 Refresh 1 came out in March, Kentico have decided to put a stop to the launch of new product versions every 12-18 months. Instead, quarterly updates called Refreshes were introduced, so that their DXP Kentico Xperience can get frequent boosts in smaller doses.
Refresh 3: Fast & Flawless
With Refresh number 3 come enhancements to the Kentico Xperience Page Builder that help save time on creating and editing websites and their elements.
Let’s explore the nifty features that this third update has brought to the table.
Adding related pages easily
Refresh 2 had already taken a burden off marketers’ and developers’ shoulders by introducing Copy-pasting Widgets and more customisation options in the Form Builder. Refresh 3 takes the relief even further by making it possible to add multiple related pages to a single widget through the Content Selector.
For comparison – previously, the process to add several related pages meant creating a separate card for each and then add them to the widget.
Minimised widget errors
Still struggling with the uncertainty of whether content will be rendered correctly on a page right away? Well, that’s a thing of the past now!
There’s a great new feature called Widget Zone Restrictions, which prevents/minimises page building errors like no other. So, no worries!
Using this new tool, developers can determine suitable widget types for each area on a page. When creating content, marketers will only be able to use those selected types for the area they’re working on at that moment. Unsuitable types, which would normally cause issues, are not even displayed as options, so there is no more risk of a wrong choice.
Another way in which widget errors are minimised is the new Widget Zone Name feature. This means adding a title to every zone so that moving content around on the page does not give marketers a headache. Basically, if a zone is placed elsewhere, every widget belonging to it will automatically follow.
